Hear New Vampire Weekend!


Time goes fast, or rather the internet makes it even faster. Just some days ago I was babbling about the albums I expected this year. Certainly, I didn't expect to be hearing one of them mere 2 days after writing such entry. Yep, Contra, Vampire Weekend's second album is up for free streaming at the band's Myspace one week before the physical release. Hope you (and I) like it.

Some Little Nonsense

Here I just share with you a nonsense short story inspired by the album Une éclipse totale de soleil, by french artist Ghédalia Tazartès: I can't really remember why I had always wanted to come to Morocco. Actually I do, I just thought ignorance would definetely do a better starting line. Starting lines are quite important, manage to miss with your opening statement, and your reader would already be looking for reasons to call your story boring, or a cure for insomnia. But insomnia has nothing to do with my reasons for me coming to this country, nor does any classic film with Humprhey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman. It actually all goes back to my last visit to the United States, when I tried to visit all that Epcot Center had to offer, and out of what I was able to see, the Moroccan representation was the one which left a bigger impact on me. Rolling Stone 500 Greatest Albums of All Time Revisited: Sgt Peppers and the Lonely Hearts Club Band

Yes, I am a music lover, what they call an audiophile. So about a year ago, on my Christmas vacation to Panama, I chose to give mysled a present, “Rolling Stone 500 Greatest Albums of All Time”. I can’t say that I’ve read much of this bookduring this year, so I have decided to listen to each of the albums on this list and make a review about each of them. How crazy am I? I don’t think that much, since I predict myself not to surpass album # 10. So I am bound to start with The Beatles and Sgt. Peppers, a number one position many might disagree. I must start by saying that this is not my favorite album. This is not even my favorite Beatles album. In fact, before this project, I hadn’t been able to carefully fully hear this album . Rubber Soul influenced Pet Sounds. Pet Sounds influenced Sgt Peppers, and what has Sgt Peppers inspired? Pretty much, everything afterwards.
