Los 11 Mejores Discos de la Decada
Those who do know me, might know that my major passion is music. Since the decade is about to end, here my reccomendations on the best it has given, though I'm still to hear many stuff and would appreciate reccomendations. Even though most of these albums are flawless, I included on each entry a videolink to a Youtube video of one of the songs, and a Wishlist Status in case you want to sent me something for Christmas.
The Mars Volta - Deloused in the Comatorium
I think crazy is the best word to describe The Mars Volta debut, De-loused in the Comatorium, an album about a friend of the band, who injected rat poison on his arm with logically bad consequences.
Year Chart Position
2003 The Billboard 200 39
Portishead - Third
Just a Taste: A Drunkship of Lanterns : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CegMfbAC81U
Status: Wishlist
Arcade Fire - Funeral
Even though there's no particular order for this list, this stands as my favorite on the list. Written after the death of close family members of band-mates and lovers Win Butler and Régine Chassagne. Emotionally charged, this is a perfect record, and a proof that they can still be made.

Queens of the Stone Age - Songs for the Deaf
What the hell is Stoner Rock you might ask? The fact is I don't really know, but I think Josh Homme has a lot to do with it. This is just a mid-point between pop and death/hardcore rock, plus it has one of my favorite album starts.
Year Chart Peak
2002 US Billboard 200 17
UK Album Chart 4

Portishead - Third
The most recent album on the list, and from the year when I really started putting more attention into music. This is probably the best comeback of the decade, which introduced me to their great debut Dummy.
Chart (2008) Peak position
UK Albums Chart 2
US Billboard 200 7
Just a Taste: The Rip - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ggOZ4RuKRgE

Interpol - Turn Off The Bright Lights
Another of the genres dugged out during this decade, post-punk, and certainly the best to come out of this revival. Taking a lot from Joy Division, Interpol modernized that sound and set the lines for bands like Editors or White Lies.
Year Chart Position
2002 Billboard 200 158
Just a Taste: PDA : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vw97oth25Vg
Status: Wishlist
Wilco - Yankee Hotel foxtrot
If you think that Yankee Hotel Foxtrot's hype relies only on its fantastic release story, than you're wrong, because this couldn't have worked out without a solid album filled with top-class ballads behind.
Just a Taste: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eS4HQxP0kQ0
Status: Wishlist
The Flaming Lips - Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots
The Flaming Lips have been around for quite a while now, but even though they had their breakthough on the mid 90s, they went underground again, but re-merged with this dreamy-pop gem. This is just beautiful and relaxing.

Radiohead - In Rainbows
You might have heard about this one, pay whatever you like for this record. After taking a four year break from recording, Radiohead suddenly announced they were releasing a new album on a week. This just leaves you wishing for next Radiohead record.
Chart Peak position
UK Albums Chart 1
U.S. Billboard 200 1
Just a Taste: 15 Step: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8XN4EctlnTQ
Status: Paid 1£ for it, but solid format on wishlist.
The Strokes - Is This It?
Critics loved this, America asked them to change their album cover, but anyhow, The Strokes were at the front of the garage rock revival, which haunted the whole decade, with not so much succesful results as this right here.
Just a Taste: Take it or Leave it - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C0qls7b5oAY

Radiohead - Kid A
First Radiohead record of the decade. And what a record, with this alone, Radiohead proves to be the most importante band of the decade. Kid A is an evolved sound from arguably Radiohead's best work, 1997s Ok Computer.
